Officials Education

If you're like most sport administrators, you probably field a lot of phone calls regarding your sport officials. Whether it's parents and coaches complaining about officials, or officials complaining about coaches and parents, it's unanimous that training officials goes a long way toward getting them game-ready. And by having prepared and confident officials, you increase the chances of your officials coming back season after season.

ASEP's Officiating Youth Sport Instructor Kit provides comprehensive and efficient training for your sport officials. Using the step-by-step instructions on the CD facilitator guide, you or a person on your staff can show the Officiating Youth Sport video and lead a course on principles of officiating youth sports. The CD includes ready-made handouts that you can print and distribute. It's a great resource for preparing your officials to handle fans, coaches and players; gain confidence and skills to make tough calls; and understand the basic rules, principles, and signals.

The online course Officiating Principles is a sport-neutral course focused on training the new or inexperienced official at the high school or club-sport level. Based on the text Successful Sports Officiating, written by the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO), this course covers the essentials officials need to know to be successful on and off the field.

Give your officials the resources they need to become successful in their roles. Contact Jennifer Mulcahey, ASEP Sales Consultant, at 800-747-5698, ext. 2304; or email JenniferM@hkusa.com.
