As a K-12 faculty-coach, you have the opportunity to take our coaching courses to earn credit toward your teaching certificate. The best part is you can take the courses online, at your own pace, and in the comfort of your own home. Take advantage of this exciting professional development opportunity and increase your knowledge of coaching in the process!

Until now, faculty-coaches have had little incentive to participate in a coaching education program. In many states, K-12 faculty are not required to have any additional training to become a sport coach; simply having a valid teaching license qualifies them.

However, if you're like the majority of faculty-coaches, you do need to earn continuing education credits to maintain your teaching certification (and to move up the salary scale). This is typically accomplished by attending classes at a local college or university; participating in conferences, seminars, or workshops; or taking online courses. It's likely the courses you usually take fall within the subject area that you teach.

Through the Human Kinetics Coach Education University Network, you can take Human Kinetics Coach Education online coaching courses through participating colleges and universities and earn graduate, undergraduate, or continuing education credits to use toward recertification. And the instruction you gain will only help to improve your performance as a coach and enhance the sport experience for the athletes you coach.

Courses available through the Human Kinetics Coach Education University Network include the following:

  • Coaching Principles
  • Sport First Aid
  • Coaching Baseball Technical and Tactical Skills
