Welcome Alabama coaches!
Numerous state high school associations, including the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA), currently use ASEP Professional Coaches Education Program Bronze Level courses in qualifying high school coaches. Each year, more than 25,000 coaches across the country are credentialed through ASEP’s Coaching Principles and Sport First Aid courses.
The AHSAA currently offers online versions of Coaching Principles and Sport First Aid courses for meeting the association's coaching education requirements.
Drawing from the text Successful Coaching, Coaching Principles challenges coaches to define who they are as coaches (their coaching philosophy, objectives, and style); enhance communication and motivational skills; become more effective teachers and trainers; and improve team, relationship, risk, and self-management skills. Coaching Principles is a study of the fundamentals of being a successful coach - before even stepping on the playing field. Coaches receive a copy of the 500-plus-page Successful Coaching text with their course registration.
Sport First Aid addresses injuries and illnesses coaches are likely to face on the playing field. It provides coaches with clear guidelines on what's expected of them as first responders, as well as action steps for the care and prevention of more than 110 athletic injuries and illnesses. The course also covers the latest information on treating concussions, preventing MRSA infections, and educating athletes on the dangers of steroids and performance enhancers. Coaches receive a copy of the 350-page Sport First Aid text with their course registration.
From this page, you can order Coaching Principles and Sport First Aid online courses individually by clicking on the corresponding icons in the table at the bottom of the page.
A more convenient option for coaches is to purchase online courses together through our new course bundle rather than purchasing courses individually.
