Welcome Archdiocese of Newark coaches!
The Catholic Coaching Essentials and accompanying sport-specific online courses satisfy coaching education requirements set forth by the Archdiocese of Newark.
As the exclusive coaching education provider to NCCYS, ASEP has designed customized online coaching courses incorporating faith-based content. The courses carry the endorsement of NCCYS, and coaches in the Archdiocese of Newark are strongly urged to participate.
Coaches in the Archdiocese of Newark who coach basketball, softball and baseball are required to take the Catholic Coaching Essentials online course effective 2008-09 school year before the start of their competitive season. Coaches are then required to take the sport-specific course for the sport they coach effective 2009-10 school year. Volleyball coaches need to take both courses before the 2009-10 season. Coaches who take Catholic Coaching Essentials and the sport-specific course are nationally certified through the National Center for Catholic Youth Sports.
