Welcome coaches of the CYO Athletic Ministry of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia!
The Catholic Coaching Essentials online training satisfies the immediate coaching education requirements set forth by the CYO Athletic Ministry of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for first-time CYO coaches.
As the exclusive coaching education provider to the National Catholic Youth Organization Sports (NCYOS), the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) has designed customized online coaching courses incorporating faith-based content. The courses carry the endorsement of NCYOS, and coaches in the CYO Athletic Ministry of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are strongly urged to participate.
While coaches in the CYO Athletic Ministry of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are required to take the Catholic Coaching Essentials online course if they have not attended a Coaches Orientation, it is highly recommended that coaches also take the sport-specific course for the sport they coach, though it is optional. Coaches taking Catholic Coaching Essentials and the sport-specific course will be nationally accredited through NCYOS.
