Welcome NIRSA sport officials!

NIRSA and Human Kinetics are working cooperatively to develop several online training courses, including interactive training for sport officials. We’re excited to introduce the first of these courses, NIRSA Officiating Flag Football. More courses are planned for other sports, so visit this area of the site often for more information and updates as these plans and courses develop.

The NIRSA Officiating Flag Football online course is delivered through the Web site of the American Sport Education Program (ASEP). ASEP is a division of Human Kinetics dedicated to improving amateur sport through the education of coaches, officials, sport administrators, and parents. Rooted in the philosophy of “Athletes first, winning second,” ASEP courses and resources are used by local, state, and national sport organizations; 40 state high school associations; and 200 colleges and universities. For 30 years, ASEP has led the way in making sport a safe, successful, and enjoyable experience for all involved.

If you are an official who has been assigned a course and you are accessing it for the first time, click the "Take Course" tab below. You will be asked to register with the site prior to accessing the course. Just follow the simple prompts. Also, check that you have your unique key code (provided to you by your administrator); you will be asked to enter it at this time as well.

On subsequent visits, select the "Continue Course" tab, sign in using your e-mail address and password, and you’ll be taken directly to your course.

Please note that there are two variations of the course:

NIRSA Officiating Flag Football Online Course is a PDF-based course, meaning there is no print material sent to the student-official prior to taking the course. All course reference material (including the rules book) is delivered as PDF downloads within the course. Everything a student needs to complete the course is contained in the online course. As there is no print material associated with this course, no shipping charges will be added to your order.

A second version of the course, NIRSA Officiating Flag Football Online Course with Rules Book, features the same online course experience as the NIRSA Officiating Flag Football Online Course, but it does include a printed rules book. With this version of the course, student-officials will be sent the most recent rules book along with a key code letter that provides instructions on how to access the course. Please allow 5 to 7 business days for delivery of the materials. As this course does include print materials, shipping charges will be added to your order.
