Welcome SWYFA Coaches!
Southwest Youth Football Association has adopted the American Sport Education Program's coaching education courses as part of the requirement for becoming a coach in SWYFA programs.  Coaches should purchase the appropriate course below for the team that they are responsible for (football or cheerleading).  Coaches should complete the course prior to their first practice.  Once a coach has completed the course, they can print/email their transcript record from ASEP’s National Coaches Registry as proof of completion.

Football Coaches
Football Coaches are required to take ASEP's Coaching Youth Football Online Course 4th Edition - PDF.

Cheerleading Coaches
Cheer Coaches are required to take ASEP's Coaching Essentials Online Course - PDF. Cheer coaches might also benefit from the recommended supplemental books that are more sport-specific in nature.

Board Members
It is highly recommended that any individual on the SWYFA Board of Directors take the Directing Youth Sports Programs Online Course. This will provide great insight as to how to manage and provide quality leadership for our programs.

Additional Football Resources
