CEU Accrual
Coaches who hold a current USA Rugby coaching certificate are permitted to accrue a maximum two-year extension onto their current certification. To gain a two-year extension, coaches must take a combination of online and in-person CEUs that equal 20 units (i.e. complete the ASEP Coaching Orientation and Sport First Aid online courses and attend a line out clinic). If coaches want to extend their current certification by one year, 10 CEUs must be earned throughout the given year. The one-year extension (10 CEUs) can be a combination of any continuing education opportunity (i.e. complete the Coaching Orientation online course and attend a scrum clinic, or complete one online course that is worth 10 CEUs, or attend two in-person clinics that are worth 5 CEUs each). At the expiration of the certification and extension, coaches are required to attend a face-to-face course and complete any accompanying requirements to maintain a current coaching certificate.
Receiving CEU Credits
Upon completion of a continuing education opportunity, including online courses, go to www.USARugby.org/goto/ceu to fill out and submit the CEU form. For any questions regarding the CDP or the CEU program, contact Mollie at mmccarthy@usarugby.org.
