Welcome West Cook YMCA coaches!
The West Cook YMCA is partnering with the American Sport Education Program to provide training for its volunteer coaches using ASEP's Volunteer Coaches Education Program.
Coaches will gain practical knowledge in support of the YMCA Youth Super Sports program's Seven Pillars: Everyone Plays; Safety First; Fair Play; Positive Competition; Family Involvement; Sport for All; Sport for Fun; and the youth will benefit from more consistent coaching and mentoring. The West Cook YMCA will offer training in soccer, volleyball, basketball and Coaching Essentials (sport-neutral) training through the ASEP program.
Below is a listing of ASEP online courses that are offered by West Cook YMCA. To register for a course, just click on the accompanying icon in the table below. Once a coach has completed the course, he or she can print and/or email a transcript from the ASEP National Coaches Registry as proof of completion.

Coaching Essentials - PDFCoaching Essentials is a sport-neutral course geared toward coaches of athletes age 13 and under participating in a recreational, noncompetitive setting. Coaches will come away from the course with a solid understanding of fundamental coaching concepts and basic coaching responsibilities. |
