Even
if you've got great preventive officiating skills, your effectiveness
really depends on your coordination with your officiating partners.
It's important to plan ahead for possible conflicts and to agree
on specific plans of action with your partners.
It's a great idea to use the officials' pregame meeting to
- prepare for scenarios such as fights and verbal conflicts,
- know the exits and plan your exit after a competition, and
- make sure your partners know where to find a school administrator,
or even local police, in the event of a fan ejection or
emergency.
