Think
of your season plan as your blueprint for success. Use it to guide
you throughout your season. No one season plan is correct for every
situation. Although coaches might have plans that look very different
from one another, all good season plans share several elements.
Plans should include the tactics, skills,
and rules you want to teach and the sequence in which you'll teach
them.
The book provides season plans for various age groups. You can use these plans directly, or you can create your
own. If you're a new coach, you might want to start with a plan from the book and then make adjustments in later
seasons as you gain experience. No matter what your experience is, though, you'll want to make sure that you plan
to teach and practice all the tactics and skills that you want your players to master. You'll also want to teach
rules as you go along.
