One
way to practice providing support is to use the Traveling
Light game described on pages
78 to 81 of Coaching
Youth Soccer. This game uses four attackers,
three defenders, and a goalkeeper. The object is for
the attackers to provide support and successfully pass
the ball through each zone of the playing area.

To give you a better idea
of how the worksheets in this unit can assist you in
practice, we asked Coach Simmons to fill one out while
running the Traveling Light game.
Reading
the observations Coach Simmons made during this practice
will remind you what you need to be looking for as your
players participate in this and other games. Click
