| When your team gets the ball, it's time
to set up the offense so that you can get a winning spike. Your offensive
alignment is often determined by your opponent's defensive alignment—that
is, whether they're using a player to block at the net.

Here
are the key points to focus on when
developing 3v3 alignments with your players.
- All players must communicate whether there is a blocker at the
net.
- When opponents don't use a blocker, after the set the setter
steps off the net to prepare for a return.
- When opponents use a blocker, the passer and setter move closer
to the hitter to cover a possible blocked ball.
- Teammates covering the hitter should be in a low, balanced position,
ready to pursue the ball in any direction.
