Based on NFHS guidelines, this e-course will help you prepare to officiate football games. The course contains material suitable for officials at the high school level and covers NFHS mechanics. You'll learn your officiating responsibilities, including pregame and postgame procedures and the mechanics of officiating football.

In this course you will learn how to

• explain the purpose and philosophy of officiating (unit 1),
• perform pregame and postgame procedures (unit 2),
• use proper four-person crew mechanics (unit 3),
• use proper five-person crew mechanics (unit 4) and
• use correct officiating signals (unit 5).

Included with this online course are the texts, Officiating Football, written by the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) in cooperation with the National Federation of State High Schools (NFHS), and the most current edition of the NFHS Football Rules Book, plus the Officiating Football Mechanics CD (NFHS Edition), developed by Epic Sports Software in cooperation with ASEP and the NFHS.
