ASEP Executive Director Facilitates Concussion Management Panel Discussion at Ohio AHPERD Convention

ASEP executive director Jim Schmutz facilitated the session "The Impact of Concussions on High School and Youth Sport Athletes A Call to Action: How Can We Improve Concussion Prevention and Methods for Concussion Management?" at the Ohio Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (OHAHPERD) Convention held December 3 at the Columbus Convention Center.

Joining Schmutz on the panel were concussion experts Dawn Comstock, Principal Investigator, Center for Injury Research and Policy The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, and Thomas L. Pommering, D.O., Division Chief, NCH Sports Medicine, Assistant Clinical Professor, Departments of Pediatrics and Family Medicine, The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

The presentation provided insight from multiple perspectives regarding the impact of concussions on young athletes and efforts to prevent and manage sports-related head injuries.
