The newly updated and enhanced Coaching Principles course is now available! Based on the text Successful Coaching, Fourth Edition, written by ASEP founder Rainer Martens, Coaching Principles has been the coaching education standard for high school athletic directors and coaches for 30 years. Offered as a classroom or online course, Coaching Principles is used by state high school associations, state athletic directors associations, state departments of education, individual school districts, national governing bodies of Olympic sports, and other sport organizations for credentialing coaches.

New in the fourth edition:

All-new high definition video depicting real-life scenarios coaches deal with on a daily basis, highlighted by roundtable discussions with master coaches who provide practical application for course lessons and sage advice for new coaches on a variety of topics. View a sample clip here.

• The Coaching Successfully Manual, a customizable document for creating a comprehensive guide for administering your sport program. The manual contains resources including real-life examples of team policies, mission statements, coaching philosophies, and booster-club bylaws that you can use as is or modify to your program’s needs.

• New interactive exercises, including the Developmental Dozen, which provides coaches with 12 goals focused on coach development and designed to prepare coaches for the demands that they will face in developing athletes.

Successful Coaching text (included with course registration) is now available in print or e-book formats.

• The updated and enhanced Coaching Principles course includes new information on bullying and hazing; social media; nutritional guidelines regarding creatine, energy drinks, caffeine, and hydration; and methamphetamine and prescription drug abuse and drug testing.
